Welcome to the Fruit Factory

shake n bake ya hurrrrrd. pretty much what I did today. minus the excessive shakin..well maybe I shook a little?

Can I palease just state for the record that I hate being out of commission. Between the rain and my legs I feel like a flatliner. I told my dad tonight that I want to dabble a little with some pool action with him. I don't know how I feel about swimming though, in a public pool? is that snobby of me? It might be..but it's fine. And is swimming fun or is it boring? Whatever I'm trying like heck to shred these 10lbs off and now I'm gonna have to break a sweat baking. whatevvv.

il
I was a fruitaholic today. watch me in action..

I started the day orange

it was one of the rainest days ever. For a little while I'm pretty sure Long Island was going under officially. When I woke up this morning I had to make a big decision (sarcasm) and was deciding between spin and pilates. I weaksauced out and chose pilates. I got to the gym, rode the bike for about 15 minutes and then headed down to get my pilates on. it ended up being a yogalates class! At first I was like ugh I wanted a workout and good sweat sesh. But halfway through when I was channeling my inner zen I thought this feels really nice. I couldn't help but think how nice a run would have felt before but it kind of just felt nice to breathe and stretch for an hour. This did end up being my only workout for the day and even though I felt a little guilty about no cardio I smacked myself silly and told myself it's not that serious.

The weather was the true inspiration for my oats this morning. I was yearning for some serious comfort food.

extra peanut butts in this batch

Then I went orange & red i guess I was dreaming of heat..

After a few hours of icking around I was just about ready for lunch. I assembled a beautious wrap. hey a girl's gotta get her crack..

featuring: fake american cheese, sabra's garlic lovers, spinach & some Lightlife Pepperonis
i'm gonna make you a pizza you can't refuse.
along with some veggies, hum hum and LC on the side. dippage overdose

dessert was pink

there was another pink lady that made it into my tummy today..

I checked out the Nasoya website to find another recipe to use with the strawbreezie flavor. And decided to read just this one to my liking and play Dr. Frankenstein experiementation.

me in the kitchen today

my creation you ask? strawbreezie soft chocolate chip cookies. uuuuh what? In case you're wondering I substituted canned pumpkin for the butter and obvi the strawberry silken for the vanilla.

muahahahahaha

cue taste tester. yes my sister is always excited to test my products and the best part is, is that she is super honest. so if they suck oh you betta believe she's gonna tell me.

success!

alright enough about me. how are you! it's FRIDAY well almost but close enough. weekend plans?
important question: i have the Shelter Island 10K on Saturday night. It's already paid for. But I don't know what to do about running it. I mean 6.2 miles is about an hour but probably more with my pain. I don't know what to do about it. I think it's my IT band because now the back of my knee is starting to ache. I've been icing it and foam rolling it but it still hurts. Can it get injured more by running on Saturday night? I just don't know what to do about it. The competitor in me is like just run it Julie and suck it up. But I just don't even know what to do. AH!

whyyyyyyyyy did they kick off Max!

Not sure about your run - have you had your knee checked out yet? Those cookies look awesome, I have to check out the NaSoya products.

I love being a mad science-woman in the kitchen - especially with successes. ;)

Hmm. If you can get in to see a doc tomorrow, that would be my suggestion.

Good luck!

hahaha...way to fruit it up, yo!

i heart the fronkenstein coming to life cookies. btw, totes saw young frankenstein with the parentals...nothing like cracking up to sex references while sitting next to your pops...awkwardness was goin on. very crafty to switch out the buttah...those silken mothahs are gooood (well ive only had the choc, but still...)

sorry about the weather lovey :(

You should probably get checked out by a doctor before your run, which would be hard to do last minute before Saturday. I'd say skip this one, there are always other races and if you rest properly and see a doctor you can run more races in the future, but if you run this race you'll accomplish one race but you might hinder your ability to run more later.

You are not a snob for not wanting to get in a public pool, I don't blame you one bit.

Those cookies look amazing. You used a combination I would NEVER have thought of, but that's why they are so great! I love new, unique combinations that actually taste good!

No kidding....Kupono NEEDED to go. What a shame.

Love the cookies!

Fruit rocks! So it's okay! haha

The cookies look great! My mom is the same way...always willing to try out my cooking experiments! Glad it was a success! :D

It sounds like you maybe should sit this one out. You don't want to make things worse. And there will always be more races in the future. Better to heal up and be 100% than risk it. You could do way more harm and then have a much worse problem to contend with.

Love the fruit! I'm a total fruit-aholic. Your cookies look delish, too.

About the race... it can definitely get more injured by running on Saturday night. I asked my mom (a doctor) and she said, there's about a 10% chance you could run and it wouldn't get worse. A 50% chance that it'd get A LOT worse, and a 40% chance that it'd get a little worse. And this is general since she hasn't examined you and all, but I thought it might help.
I'm a total competitor and everything, but a 10K is a good distance... I wouldn't do it :/

I love swimming and the plus is that you don't get all sweaty!! Dude, I feel ya on the rain! We're under a flash flood warning until Saturday - good thing I've got a boat :D

Wooooowwww look at you Betty Crocker! Those cookies look great judging by your sister's reaction! Ehhhh I know what you mean about being competitive and wanting to still compete (hello concussions, pneumonia, hospitalizations, puking at practice, and still training!) BUT I urge you not to do it. Maybe you could walk it but don't run it!

on man - not sure about the race. If you think it is your IT band - could you get one of those bands you put right under your knee to run in? Maybe start the race, but drop out if the pain is bad? either way - good luck!

"I smacked myself silly and told myself it's not that serious." best part of this post!

the cookies look good, judging from the smile they got out of your food critic :)

hmmm i dont know what to tell you about the run, was it a lot of moolah? maybe skip it.. if you think it will make your sitch worse.

xo!

I know it must be so hard for you to go easy on the cardio right now, but you have to understand how important it is for you! I know I'm going to be going through the same thing next February... I have a surgery on both of my feet and will have to stay off them for up to 4 weeks! I'd love to hear what you end up finding for good exercises that don't put too much pressure or strain on the feet and legs.

About the race... I'd talk to a doctor if I were you and see how serious your situation is. If that isn't an option, I'd probably suggest sitting this one out. It's only one race, and you have to look at what's better for your health in the long run.

Good luck girl!

That wrap looked delish, I want one right now! I hope that the race went well if you ran or walked it, or that you don't beat yourself up if you chose not to. Gotta listen to your bod!
