top of the morning to ya all :)
so yesterday was my first experimentation with the whole gym to work shibang i have planned on mondays and friday.
this is how my day went yesterday:
4:50AM alarm clock goes off after an very long night of tossing and turning. not fun. but i was surprisingly awake and ready to go.
4:40AM-5:15AM get gym clothes on, brush my teeth eat a dannon light and fit strawberry yogurt and think that this is way to early to be eating, start my car, put every (lunch, snacks, work clothes, my life) into my car and head out for the day.
this is my food. not including my clothing, and other various things i felt were important to bring to the office
just call me bag girl
5:30AM arrive at gym hop on the elliptical for 5 minutes and get my jams flowin so i can get in the groove. throw some weights around and wish that i had more time for back and biceps
- cable bicep curl 3 sets 12 (15lbs each side) superseded with lat pulldowns 3 sets 12 (45lbs, 50lbs, 60lbs)
- bicep curls 3 sets 12 (30lbs) superseded with bent over reverse flys 3 sets 15 (5lbs each hand)
- bent over row 3 sets 12 (30lb barbell)
6AM-6:50AM spin spin spin!
7AM-7:30AM shower, dress, put my face on and thank the lord that i remembered to throw a pair of flip flops in my bag that morning. also think that next time i should bring a bigger towel.
7:35-8:35AM drive to work and think the entire time how i can wait to get to the office and make breakfast. also think that next time eating my breakfast in the car would be a genius idea.
….the good thing about winter is that the car also poses as a moving refrigerator.
8:45AM arrive at office, chat with coworker about traffic, think about how hungry i am, use the old school microwave to make my oatmeal and throw use my brand new folgers to-go instant “coffee tea bags". relish in the fact that i can breathe and sit down to eat breakfast.
…or so i think.

1/5c oats, cinnamon, splenda, an unmeasured amount of water, 1 naner & a plain brown cow greek yog

9AM take one bite of my oatmeal
9:01AM realize that a staff meeting is about to take place, cry inside, put my breakfast down on my desk and wheel my chair into the staff meeting with an empty belly and my coffee in hand.
9:01AM-11:30AM yes that’s right a 2 and a half hour staff meeting.
11:30AM coworker asks what is in the bowl on my desk. “mmm oatmeal plus yogurt” duh. coworker replies “wow that looks so good, like whipped cream and bananas” i reply “oh it is” and think now get out of my way so i can eat it.
11:35AM boss asks me to run some errands with new staff member. i think holy fsafhsf i need to eat.
11:36AM grab my bowl and proceed to take my progresso mug on the run and eat my breakfast while running errands with the new girl
…also realize i’m extremely dehydrated
11:30AM-1:15PM work work work then decide it’s probably a good time to get some lunch even though i just ate breakfast an hour ago
1:15PM hit the faculty lounge with schoolwork and lunch in hand.
roll out wrap filled with: 1/3c cottage cheese, laughing cow, tjs spicy mustard, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach & one slice of Lightlife Oven Roasted faux turks
1:15PM-2:15PM eat lunch, “read” for school and think about how hectic the day has felt so far and how much stuff i have to read for school and how much stuff i have to read for school that i’m not going to get read.
2:15-5PM work work work! also get my desk moved and realize i’m going to have a floating desk which means i will be “the bag lady” 3x a week. also eat an unpictured apple and chat with a coworker about how i need to be the next bachelorette
5:20PM-6:30PM drive home and eat unpictured almonds. think about the amount of crap i have to do when i get home.
6:30PM clean up my dogs crap. yep you heard right. you see my dog is “back” but not really. he pees and goes number 2 everywhere and growls a lot. we’re not sure if he’s ever going to really “come back” but we work hard everyday to try and get him to be his psycho non-bathrooming everywhere self.
7PM beet overdose.
along with a huge honkin salad.
yes you heard right. i pretty much ate an entire beet. actually i tried to and then about 3/4 of the way through i was sick from beets so i stopped eating them and took them out of my salad.
oh my salad? HUGE. lettuce, 1/2c cottage cheese mixed with salsa, about 1 serving of lightlife pepperoni slices, more salsa, broccoli, eggplant & brussel sprouts, beets, red peppers, onions, green peppers, shroomies & 1tbsp trader joes jalapeno & cilantro hummus.
7:45PM time for dessert? you know it.
find an almost empty jar of better n peanut butter and take advantage of it.
make a pumpkin cake (1/2c canned pumpkin+egg white+cin&stiv, nuked for 3 minutes) and plop that warm baby into the jar.
7:58PM make the noise “mmmmm”
8PM-10PM sadly watch the bachelor, think it’s horrid and try to get in as much reading and school work as a girl possibly could do. yet still feel like i haven’t done enough. actually realize i haven’t done enough. blah.
10:15PM set my alarm clock for 6AM, think about how that’s considered “sleeping in” to me and hit the pillow hard.
did i exhaust you? well i exhausted myself typing that ;) i was beet no pun intended haha at the end of the day!
i’m off to hop in the shower and head out to a full long day of school. say a prayer that this snow talk is just an early april fool’s joke..

argh mondays. me no likey. work. :( i think they should have 'real housewives of charlotte' and i could be one. even though technically i have neither house nor am a wife. but neither was bethenny frankel. but anyway, then i would not have to work.

hahah I wake up at 415 for work at 5, so when I get to sleep even till 530, heck thats sleepign in indeed!!! its a whole extra hour! that adds up...love your little schedule and love that your co worker looked at your breakfast and thought whipped cream haha....only americans, right??
I do love the wintertime beacuse I sometimes do treat my car as my fridge. I have left groceries overnight before so I don't forget thigns in the morning to bring to work, it works magically!!!
favorite thing about monday is that ITS OVER!! yay, one day closer to the weekend!!

Monday's are typically the fastest day of the work week for me so that's what I like about'em.
Ah crazy day! I'd be freaking out about no breakfst after a spin class too! Haha my coworkers are always talkin about my yogurt oats too. Hmm Mondays are okay..just depressing that I have 4 more days of sitting at a desk.
I really like the post set up and how it goes through your whole day. It's cool to see how people live their lives regularly. And oh wow! I would have been dying having to wait until 11:30 to eat! I feel for you on that one.

You definitely exhausted me! I gym it at night after work instead because I have a hard time getting up in the am. Power to you! I also laughed at the "bigger" towel comment. Who are they kidding with those in the locker room? I'm not an All American Doll!!! haha

Oh my god Julie that is INSANE. With all of the lack of eating going on in this post, I would have been the grumpiest person alive. Seriously. I turn into such a bitch when I'm hungry.
I'm thinking eating breakfast in the car is definitely going to HAVE to happen. No Questions asked.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog...but I can relate...my dog is 15 and thinks the whole apt is his personal litterbox! thank god for hard wood floors and arthritis (he can't jump on furniture)
you rocked it out girl!! My favorite things about monday is that it is my day off from the gym!! (well for now..) So I feel ya about the sleeping in. Crazy to think 7am is mad sleeping in! Ah well. I hope you are having a great tuesday anyways!!

That is a crazy long day. I am going to have to call you Julie Go Lean on the Run. Do you get a snow day tomorrow? Still no word on us yet.
Wow Julie!! BUSY day! I'm glad you've got the workout thing figured out, or at least sort of. Do you think you will stick to that 4:50 am wake-up call? Or would you rather just wait until the afternoon? I hate starting a new routine and not knowing when I will eat next, good for you for taking advantage when you had to go out! During my internship I would put snacks in my lab coat :) I ate cheese sticks while writing on charts. Bad intern.
