happy holiday weekend :) hope you’re all having as gawjuss a weekend as we are here! i’m certainly enjoying the weather, the company and naturally the food.
waking up to this glorious weather this morning wasn’t too shabby either.
yesterday afternoon i left you high and dry, and after an awesome spin session and checking off the majority of my saturday “to-do” list, i picked up the sis from work and we made the hour and a half journey out to our summer cottage for some much needed relaxation time.
one of my “to-do’s” was to make a cd jam packed with good travel tunes.
it got jenna’s seal of approval so it was a success! i’ve been on a barenaked ladies kick as of late.
last night after a scrumptious dinner the ladies hit up the local movie theatre and we got “carrie-d away” as in we had a girl’s night out to see sex and the city 2. coming from a huge fan (as in never missed an episode, grew up with the show type fan) i thought it was interesting. a big circus and kind of no plot but i guess you really couldn’t expect much more.
the fash on the other hand was off the hizzy good.

greenport stovetop protein oatmeal :)
1/3c oats, 1c unsweetened vanilla almond breeze, cinnamon & stevia, egg white mixed in, 1 scoop designer whey vanilla protein powder, 1 tbsp better n peanut butter & 1 tbsp smuckers s/f blackberry jam.
jammin. oatmeal & oprah mag. what a way to start the day.
after breakfast relaxation mode officially set in. as if it had ever left..
and i spent the day working on my sunburn & educating myself with this month’s women’s health & self mags.
such divaz, i know.
some point between this month’s superfood and 28 ways to spice it up in the bedroom i decided it was about time to break for lunch.
summer = salads. all. the. time.
this gawj had the works plus 4 hardboiled egg whites, some low salt turkey & a laughing cow. all a-topped with balsamic & honey mustard. delish.

i wish i could say that other things happened during the day but they didn’t. almonds were snacked on. gossip with deej was had. and eventually after eating, and more eating it was time to eat dinner.
because what else do you do on holidays but eat. no?
we foiled packed some skewered shrimpies in fresh lime juice, garlic powder & chili powder and threw them babies on the grill.
london broil was cued, corn on the cob was boiled, taters were made, salad was assembled & we feasted.
salad numero dos for me.
i also roasted up some broccoli & eggplants and threw them in my serving sized bowl of greens with some skewered shrimpies, goat cheese & balsamic.

now we’re just watching the sunset, fighting off the squitos & we’ve got plans for a 7-11 cawfee trip and a bowl of popcorn with my name on it.
tomorrow i’ve got fun stuff planned! i’ve got a track workout in the a.m and then some of the besties are driving out to spend the day out here!
