thank you all for your amazing support regarding “the commenter” i just brushed it off after the initial wake up comment email. it just came after a stressful exhausting week and the comment was just the icing on the cake. but i’m over it.
i think a weekend of exactly nothing on the agenda was exactly what i needed!
and a weekend of nuttin was exactly what i did!
saturday i woke up an hour before my alarm clock! i had plans to hit up spin and then drive out east but spin wasn’t for a very long time and i figured it would be a much better plan to hit the gym, do my own thing and get an earlier head start out east to avoid all traffic nonsensicals
my plan was genius.
i did 40 sweaty minutes on the revolving stair beast + 10 easy peezy minutes on the lippy and then pumped some shoulder iron for about 25 minutes.
- dumbbell catches 3 sets 15 (15lb dumbbell) <---is that even what they’re called?
- standing weighted twists 3 sets 25 (25lb weight)
- military press 3 sets 15 (15lb dumbbells – 30lbs total)
- weighted full body crunch 3 sets 25 (5lb dumbbell between legs oww oww hahaha)
cable upward row 6sets
dumbbell front raises 3 sets 12 (15lb dumbbell)
luckily for my belly and time schedule i made some breakfast cookie dough the night before, let it sit in the fridge overnight and then added to the cookie dough when i got home from the gym
what i ate could possibly be the best breakfast i’ve had in a long. @$$. time.
inspired by april’s mock french toast, i added 5 scrambled & cooled eggs whites mixed with cinnamon and stevia to my overnight oats.
then after i chopped it all up i added in 1tbsp naturally more & 1 tablespoon of raspberry jam along with a drizzle of sugar free chocolate syrup (go ahead and judge my sugar free options.)
but don’t forget to drool while you judge.
have a bite! you know you wanna ;)
the timing worked perf and i piled my weekend bags in my trusty mailbu trunk, plugged in the good ole ipod and sang my hour and half on the way out east. only stopping for iced cawfs once…
i wanted to stop for fresh picked raspberries but my bladder told me no mas. when i got to the cottage i b-lined it to the bathroom and then to the fridge.
lunchtime + a day’s worth of reading. perf.
deli chicken breast slices, jarlsberg, roasted red pepper hummus on a bagel thin + italian flag.
the only thing that was missing was a sexy italian man with grapes & a palm leaf fanning me.
the rest of the day involved mounds of guacamole, a failed protein cake attempt and a majorly failed unpictured dinner from a local takeout joint called “andy’s unbelievable burgers & seafood”
unbelievably bad is more like it. i ordered the shrimp shish kebab with sweet potato fries.
picture opening a box of 6 non kebob-ed shrimp, soggy shredded lettuce and mushy orange logs that could not qualify as sweet potato fries if my life depended on it.
thank the lord for dark chocolate, root beer barrels & microwave popcorn
sunday morning i wanted so bad a repeat of saturday’s breakfast
but we had no eggs. i settled for a protein breakfast cookie smothered in naturally more & blackberry jam.
it took a long 20 minutes of microwave cycles + a half hour in the freezer while deej & i went on an iced coffee run, but the wait and labor were so worth it.
- 1/2c oats cooked in 1 3/4c water (cooked as in microwaved for 5 minutes 5 times)
- cinnamon, stevia & vanilla extract
- 1 serving designer whey vanilla protein powder
cooled in the freezer for 20 minutes or so
added on top: 1tbsp naturally more & 1tbsp sugar free blackberry jam
clearly i hated it.
for the record i have a serious serious serious and slightly expensive summer obsession with 7-11 columbian iced cawfs.
do you know what i did the rest of this afternoon?
nothing. actually i did absolutely nothing. van even asked me if i wanted to play tennis? nerp.
i just sat. and sat. & ate. and sat.
cream cheese & jelly used to be a serious obsession of mine when i was a toddler. i grown-uped my cream cheese & j today by replacing cream cheese with cottage cheese.
genius. + another italian flag minus the italian man plus a mound of guacamole.
then i drove home.
for dinner i put my trusty grill to work & whipped up my favorite summer salad combo
in the mix:
barbequedbroccoli, eggplant & b sprouts
- spinach & romaine mixture
- green peppers, maters, carrots & beets
- goat cheese
- tjs salmon patty
- & balsamic & honey mustard
gawj & face rockin
is it just me or are not strawbs, goat cheese, balsamic & salmon not the homecoming king and queen combo?
for a whole lot of nuttin this was a whole long post of somein no?
back to the grind tomorrow!
what are your foodie homecoming king & queen combos?
