i know what you’re thinking. silly julie, today is the fourth!
well if i have my calendar correct that makes yesterday the 3rd of july. and out here in greenport, there’s always a reason to celebrate and part-ay.
since we’re celebrating the birth of our nation today. yesterday the golean family threw a little shibang for my younger brother’s 21st birthday.
before the festivities began i was up bright and early, got myself a day pass at the local gym and spent 45 minutes on an elliptical from the 1940s, sans music because it would happen that my ipod dies the second i get on the lippy.
i came home enjoyed some breakityfast and got to work with one objective in mind.
simple pb&j protein oats: 1/3c oats, 1c water, cinnamon&stevia, 1 serving designer whey vanilla protein, 1/2tbsp naturally more & 1tbsp blackberry jam
make. man. food.
as per request of the birthday boy “make. me. buffalo. chicken. dip” oh yeah? not. a. problem.
after scouring the internet (i kid) i went directly to jessica’s blog and copped two of her recipes which i knew would be tasty, simple & crowd-friendly.
“hey jack, is this buff chix dip good enough?”
jack: “i think i’ll sit right here in front of this dip for a few hours”
“hey deej, what happened to the rest of the pb&j bars?”
deej: “they’re gone.”
naturally there’s was tons more food ….
after all it was a 21st birthday party…
and birthday boy kisses..
and family bonding moments.
and jellyfish stings..
in all the wrong places.
a how-to on frisbee
& gawjy sunsets.
and with a bowl full of oats & coffeepot with my name on it & a house full of people i’m off to celebrate the 4th!
1/3c oats, 1/2c unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1/4c water, cinnamon&stevia, 5 egg whites, 1 tbsp better n peanut butter & 1tbsp blackberry jam (all eaten after 30 minutes of refridgeration)
happy birthday u s of a.
