so when my alarm started screaming at me at 4:50am this morning, about 87.6% of me almost hit the “shut the jfj#&* button” and went back to bed.
the other 12.4% said “you never regret a workout julie”
well actually there was the one workout i did regret about a year ago when i threw my back out doing good mornings. haven’t said good morning since then.
the thing is, is that i just was bored! i used to feel excited about getting up to workout. but this morning it almost felt like a job.
i convinced myself to get to the gym, and if i hated it then i could leave and come back to bed. i’d done it before and dangnit i’d do it again!
did i have a good workout?
one of my favorite parts of a great workout is the drive home. honestly driving home sweaty with the windows down & knowing that you have the whole day ahead of you and some people aren’t even awake yet is such a great feeling.
kind of like a weird form of meditation?
35 minutes amt trainer (varied resistances to prevent boredom) + full body workout-ish!
|step ups||15lb free weights (30lbs)||3 sets 15 each side|
|bicep curls||15lb free weights (30lbs)||3 sets 12|
|military press||30lb barbell||3 sets 12 reps|
|smith machine squat||50lbs |
|15 reps |
|seated double pulley row||45lbs||3 sets 12|
|tricep dips||bodyweight||3 sets 15|
single set: 35 pushups
|weighted calf machine||75lbs||3 sets 15|
|romainian deadlift||50lb barbell||3 sets 12|
i hadn’t done a full body workout in forever and it just felt awesome to change it up! i’m so used to split days (back/bis, chest/tris, shoulders/abs, & legs) and it was so much more fun to just do whatever i felt like :)
post workout & car meditation ;)
2 egg white puff & naner calorie free strawb sizurp.
post shower, dress, put on face & decide what the heck to wear in a cold office on a heat wave day in a car with no air conditioning:
naturally you choose hot coffee.
post sweaty commute, rockin out to traffic tunes & stomach growlage:
addictive breakfast combo comin at cha!
oat bran cooked in water with half a serving of mrm metabolic whey (vanilla), peanut flour peanut butter paste & trader joe’s blueberry flax. there’s also invisible raspberry office preserves you can’t see.
sweet, crunchy & kind of salty! hell yes.
every tuesday i tweet about how slow the day goes. tuesdays just creep. like creep is actually an understatement. today, among tweeting about how the minutes krept by like centuries, i put out a cry for how i should “dress” my tuna salad lunch.
the vote was between zesty lemon hummus & tjs raspberry vinegrette.
the zesty lemon won by a long shot, and although it’s not my favorite flavor, a very smart blogger reminded me how delicious tuna & lemon go together.
i bet this looks good to you. especially with the thought of a light zesty lemon drizzle over it?
well it would have been good if a certain coworker didn’t leave the fridge open overnight and allow my zesty lemon hummus to become a not-so-zesty-sour-mus.
tuna salad (tuna, cottage cheese, minced onions, garlic powder & dijon mustard) + mixed greens with wheat berries!
when in doubt just shower everything in balsamic right?
as you may have already guessed, the day continued to move slower then the turtle who beat the hare.
which was somewhat good because it left me with plenty of time for
chocolate almonds make the time go by a little faster.
jerk meat makes the time fly
because when the weather gets hot, your belly gets empty & you need something to “fill the hole” until dinner who ya gonna call?
i posted about the teriyaki dried chicken breast here and today my dried meat stripin face choose the chicken breast with black bean salsa & Wisconsin cheddar flavor.
say that three times fast while snapping pictures of yourself with your beef jerky face
i really liked this flavor! it had a nice little kick and i definitely got the cheddar/salsa combo flavor. i like the chicken breast because it’s not too much of a meaty taste but instead you really get the vibe of the other flavors. i am loving these simply snackin meat strips!
the heat has been such a beast these past couple of days that i wasn’t even too hungry for dinner.
all i really wanted all day was a cold sweet potato
deej read my
bbm mind and when i arrived home from work there was a fresh bag of newly purchased taters just waiting to be nuked & chilled.
it’s a good thing my dried meat snack has good protein because it held me over while i cooked my tater, barbequed up some veg & gave them time to “chill out” in the freezer.
i was so hot i almost climbed in there with them
i dressed my cold tater with laughing cow & peanut flour paste with a touch of cinnamon & enjoyed a lettuceless salad of grilled veg with nooch, garlic powder & chili powder and a side of cedar’s tzatziki for dipping.
yumdiddy! for the record, forks are overrated. it’s all about the spreadable butter knives.
don’t you just love when dinner is exactly how you imagined it?
this chick is out like sauerkraut!

- QUICK DON’T THINK! what do you wish you had for dinner tonight? type the first thing that comes to mind. FALAFEL!
