so yesterday was one of those mornings where it probably would have just been better for me to sleep in. i won’t go into detail but in short i got about 4 hours of sleep the night before, dragged my butt to spin, broke my favorite spin bike oh lord, and had a less than stellar workout, worked like a dog at work, suffered from a serious case of indigestion the entire day, came home to find out more bad news about my car, and had a miniature heart attack due to a ridiculously hard economics assignment..
but we won’t go into anymore detail then that
the saving grace of the entire day was dinner.
i had dreamt it up my entire commute home. okay let’s be real. i was dreaming of it the entire day.
i have a serious obsession with chopsticks and as soon as i got home i went gunnin for the cutting board. stir-fry was on zee menu for the night.
and stir-fry it. was.
this baby was huge. that’s a serving bowl in case you’re wondering.
in the mix: i stir-frizzled up broccoli, carrots, some frozen caulis, red & green peppers, onion, some broccoli slaw & mushrooms (basically every veg in my fridge). i let this all sizzle in a pan sprayed with nonstick coconut oil spray. while this was sizzlin i made the stir-fry sawce
for the sawce i combined:
- 1/4c low sodium vegetable broth
- 1 tbsp braggs liquid aminos
- 1tsp stevia
- 1-2tsp cornstarch
- a pinch of red pepper flakes
wiskied this all up with my trusty pig whisk. then i added in about 15-20 shrimpies. saute saute saute. add sawce in. turn. that. heat. up.
let it sizzle.
speaking of sizzlin remember the sizzler? ha. ha. i used to tear that place up. buffet style hardcore. unlimited ice cream & smooshy pasta? yes palease. do they still exist?
anyways when all the sauce had seeped into the veggie & shrimpie combo i plopped it in a bowl and threw a laughing cow wedge in for good measure.
quickly after dinner my economics meltdown occurred. ugh. why can’t i understand economics.
i quickly had to find the cure to meltdowns.
meltdown solution = cooldown time. ice ca-ream!
1/2c unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1/2 scoop dymatize elite butter cream toffee protein powder, stevia, 1/2tsp each of guar & xanthum gum, 1/4c
dippin dots puffed millet on the bottom & 2tsp unsweetened cocoa powder for dustage
104 cals, 3g fat, 7g carbs, 2g fiber, 12.5g protein
i let my blender take my frustration out on my new and to cool for school protein powder.
watching a blender beat the crap out of ice cubes, protein powder & almond milk is such a therapeutic method of curing frustration
by the way i am lovin this new flavor of dymatize elite butter cream toffee! me lurv and gets my seal of approval ;) which we all know is oh-so important.
economics frustration+massive texts with equally confused classmate+xanthum belly = bedtime.
confession 1: i really didn’t want to workout this morning. but i went anyways.
confession 2: i’m having a really hard time getting my heart rate up and sweating lately.
confession 3: i know something that would get someone’s heart rate up ;) ;) you durty girl.
workout: 30 minutes stair master challenge then chest&triceptuals occurred
- dumbbell chest press (legs prone mid-air to engage core) 3 sets 12 (15lb free weights) superseded with tricep dips 3 sets 15 (bodyweight)
- pectoral press machine (legs held out straight engaging core) 3 sets (1st set of 15 @ 30lbs, 2nd set of 12 @ 35lbs, 3rd set of 10 @ 40lbs)
- v-rope tricep pressdown 3 sets 12 (40lbs) alternated with bosu ball knee tucks 3 sets 20
10 minutes ellipticized to get heart rate back up (resistance 8 crossramp 8 – 2 min foward 2 min back)
- stability ball pushups 3 sets 15 (bodyweight) superseded with barbell tricep pushbacks 3 sets 12 (30lb barbell)
peanut butter was c’est necessaire upon completion. and fast.

in zees bowl: 2/3c fage + cin&stiv, 1.25c puffed wheat, 1/2 chopped gala, 1tbsp naturally more & 1tbsp smuckers s/f raspberry chemically enhanced but totally addictive preserves
my favorite part about pb&j is licking the tablespoon after it’s been dunked in the peanut butter and then re-dunked in the jelly. it’s such an unclassy and unattractive moment of mine but hey nobody ever has to see it.
