things got a little crazy around here the past two days and blogging had to take a back burner. reader included, so if you haven’t seen my face around town for the past two days don’t worry i’m getting on top of my reader the moment i hit “publish”
well after i make a batch of curry peanut soup (if you haven’t made this soup yet i’m telling you it will change your life)
yesterday i hit a funk. a hard core funk. not even a lifting like a monster session could bring me out of the funk.
it was just one of those days where you feel like you’re not really ‘present’ but you go through the motions anyway
even my boss said it seemed i was ‘out of it’ yesterday. gasp! i know. it’s okay i didn’t get fired
today? much better
i attribute it to two things
last night’s dinner & this morning’s spin class
last night’s dinner was easy, nutritious AND delicious. doesn’t get much better then that right?
all it took was 3 ingredients (well 4,000 if you count my salad but for this sake we won’t)
i simply baked a spaghetti squash for 40 minutes in the oven at 450, forked out the center and put about 2-3 cups in a giant bowl
and topped it off with egg whites, nutritional yeast, and a new trader joe’s lover of mine
kids you’re missing out if you don’t get this!
amazing. on the ‘side’ i had a big salad beast of kale & roasted veggies topped with my other lover goat cheese
and a beautiful food baby was born.
this morning i debated not going to 6am spin. i went to bed at 9:30 last night to defunk myself and when i woke up this morning i had the “ehhhh…” feeling
but i went. and i was so glad! finished off my gym session with some abs which i am for-ev-er neglecting
- captains chair
- bosu knee tucks
- weighted full body crunches
- & planks
apparently when the weather man says that the snow storm won’t start until 11PM tonight, what he really means is 8AM instead
so in honor of a horrendous commute i wore my “if i don’t make it through the commute i want to be buried in these” boots
paired off with my infamous tan jeggings & an alfani light blue wrap shirt (& don’t forget the side of toilet bowl)
i got these michael kors boots on the super discount double coupon end of season lord & taylor sale. it’s the only way to buy boots. (shh! don’t tell my dad)
in honor of the potential to die commute i savored a bowl of my as-of-late breakfast obsession and headed out the door!
perfectly pink protein oats (made with oat bran, water, strawberry protein powder & topped with naturally more and strawberry sugar free preserves) with a
10,000 cup of blueberry crumble coffee
i julie have an addiction to pink protein powder. <—first step is admittance
my boss was a sweetie and let me leave early because of the traffic/road sitch!
better safe then sorry.
i took this opportunity and made pit stops at the essentials for a snow storm. trader joe’s and the library!
pick up some tj’s goods, got a book i had on hold and finally made it home
traded in my ‘if-i-die” boots for uggs & starting off this storm right with a snack and a cup of kusmi jasmine green tea.
toasted three minute microwave cake + trader joe’s creamy goats cheese & peach/raspberry preserves
le sigh life is good.
whenever i get myself in a funk i always tell myself the best thing i can do is keep truckin, get some sleep and start the next day with a smile.
done AND done.
