what’s up? just hanging here, catching up on my dvr-ed bravo shows, oh ya know the usual.
i’ve got a bunch of stuff i feel like sharing so here’s what’s up with me lately!
this is my new favorite mustard. $1.99 it set me back and it sits in my office fridge in all of it’s gold glory
and okay, so while we’re talking about work. simply bars have saved my life & my coworker’s lives like 5,000 times this week
the lovely folks at simply bar sent me a whole gaggle of them, and i know that janetha & susan swear by them (or close to it) so i mean in my eyes they must be good. 16g of protein in one bar? it can’t be true. but it is! and tasty! the lemon coconut was almost as good as beach party protein oats
speaking of food. this deserves a double what’s up.
i made jamie eason’s pumpkin protein bars this weekend when i was on my stay-cation, and i’m officially obsessed!
some changes i made:
- i didn’t have ‘oat flour’ so i just put dry oats in the food processor and grinded them up! worked like a charm. i also used peanut flour with the oat flour to make them peanutty
- i used optimum nutrition banana cream protein powder instead of vanilla
- i used all applesauce instead of canned pumpkin (had no pumpkin on hand and no stores were carrying it yet, uh what)
- and i used chopped up almonds instead of walnuts
i also ate half the batter right off the spoon. not-so whoopsies!
they’ve made great mid-morning snacks just to hold me over until it’s time to break into my salad beastual for lunch.
speaking of jamie eason and kicking ass in the gym..
i went a little back to the basics this morning with some super sets of back & biceps and took 2/3 of a spin class and it felt glorious
- lat pull-downs alternated with standing lateral pressdowns
- reverse cable flys alternated with bent over barbell rows
- face smashes alternated with seated wide grip cable rows
i went down a bit on the weights and did 4 sets of each with 12 reps. sometimes (well just in my opinion) basic and burnin’ feels oh so good.
as for spin, well i just spun until i didn’t feel like spinning anymore. just hopped my booty right, off that bike and decided it was time to go home for a drink!
speaking of workouts..
i stole this workout from a magazine at the gym the other morning
i tried to be super sly about it and do a super soft ‘tear’ but people around me saw me. and then i’m like whatever eff this shiz i pay $32 bucks a month i can tear ONE mini workout out of a magazine
i’m excited for my hip/back to get all better so i can ram this out
although i do have to look into what exactly ‘cockroaches’ are. and i’m really posting this as a selfish act just in case or when i lose the magazine rip-out
speaking of drinks!
i’m having drinking issues
well really it’s just straw issues.
i LOVE my perfect protein smoothie but i just can’t sip it through the straw! like physically i am unable to get the thickness through the straw.
the only straw that seems to be large enough to work is the pretty pink/orange dunkin donuts one. and i don’t mind stealing them but i have to buy coffee to steal them and i haven’t been able to do a buy/steal session lately
i know i have issues. so until then i will play reverse blowfish on my morning beverage.
speaking of issues.
i’m a slob.

my drink ends up on my boob. and yes that’s me pretty much telling you to check out my boob
and i have small boobs, so imagine how much of a slob that makes me
thank god for tide sticks! and gray sweaters!
oh and peep toe shoes. girl needs a pedicure like whoa.
looks like i don’t need to go looking for a man for friday night dates, as long as i’ve got some olive oil and oats.
also, do you not love this idea for a wedding gift?
an invitation transformed into a serving dish! so cool, no? especially if the bride-groom has a super swanky inviation
so that’s pretty much all i’ve got today.
