is anyone else as excited for friday as i am?
i’ve got some fun stuff planned for this weekend, plus this over-worked, under paid chica needs some time to decompress, ya hurd..
work has been cuhrazy this week! between the commute being worse then ever and just LOTS and LOTS of projects being thrown my way (not complaining here!) i’ve barely had enough time to leave my desk for lunch
so by the time i get home from work, make dinner, decompress a little bit, oh ya know blogging an reading other blogs just had to take the back burner! you know how it goes when we get busy
speaking of being busy
being busy in the kitchen this past sunday certainly paid off
for my mid morning snacks at work when i get a chance i’ve been all about the turkey muffin with goat cheese spread top and an apple on the side
oh how i heart apple season
another ‘good’ thing about my 1-2 hour commute to/and from work is that there is plenty of time to munch breakfast, sing my heart out, text & drive (<---guilty as charged), & plan for dinner
my oats ala road have been ultra delicious lately
- protein oat bran (made with 1 serving of oat bran & 1/2 serving of optimum nutrition banana cream protein powder)
- 1 teaspoon tropical traditions coconut oil stirred in
- the next day added on top some chip chopped almonds
delicious. have a bite!
i never share so you better take it while you can!
while we’re on the topic of sharing i need to share with you my two bloggie inspired things from today.
the problem is that i have the memory of a dead elephant. so when i got tho the gym this morning i closed my eyes, remembered as much as i could and then just kind of winged it
here’s what i come up with, and i hope it’s kind of close
shoulders focused upperbody metabolic workout
i did just as naomi advised, and did 30 seconds for each exercise, moving quickly within each set. i repeated the circuit 6 times and it took between 20-25 minutes (including the time i spent running around grabbing dumbells, bosus, & having cocktail breaks
|dumbbell shoulder press||15lb dumbbells||30 seconds|
|dumbbell front raise||10lb dumbbells||30 seconds|
|cable lateral raises||10lb (cable weight)||30 seconds (left) then 30 seconds (right)|
|pushup with front reach||bodyweight||30 seconds|
|e-z bar upward row||40lbs||30 seconds|
|bosu burpees||bodyweight||30 seconds|
try it! it left my pretty nice & sweaty! i ended the workout with 2 sets of 15 assisted pull-ups & 10 minutes of hiit on the stairmaster
this workout was quick like a cheetah and left me with plenty of time to get home, cleanse myself, put my face on & beast out the door
looks like skirt season is coming to an end. almost time to break out those boots!
the other good thing about having time to text & drive (i mean drive to work) is being able to text deej dinner suggestions while i sit in tremendous traffic vortexes
so i texted deej on my way to work suggesting that she spend a few minutes that morning turning on our dear old crock pot, throwing some chicken breasts & the rest of my favorite marinara in life into the big old boy and let it do it’s thang
BAM. deej even spruced it up to my surprise by adding a container of baby bella mushrooms & some sliced green peppers. it was delicious! i had mine on some salad with an un-pictured side of sweet potato frites!
looks like i’ll have to pick up a new jar of that marinara with my whole foods living social deal i scored (and you probably did too) yesterday!
while we’re on the topic of deals..
if you go to 7-11 you NEED to hear about this deal. buy this cup for $1.99. then any time you go in and fill up that cup with coffee it’s only .99 cents! that’s ALMOST as good as dunkin donuts .99 cents any size iced tea
what is it about the words 99 cents that just sound like the best deal ever..
believe me it’s SO worth leaving an extra 10 minutes early. even if you did already have coffee before your morning workout..

so i’m watching top chef desserts from last night and they got to recreate charlie’s chocolate factory, if you could have an ENTIRE room full of desserts what would be in yours? ugh mine would be filled the the MAX with walls of rainbow cookies, little sour patch kids running around everywhere, jelly beans GALORE like everything in jelly belly beans & starburst stairs & dark chocolate men, so i could fall in love with them and then eat them.
