the friday five – so it continues – these are actually turning into my favorite posts of the week! thanks christina for creating this joyous day of celebration
what i’m reading
so i started a new book – it’s not really new – it’s actually pretty old – but one of my coworkers is really good friends with the author and couldn’t say enough amazing things about the book
i’m about a quarter of the way through and so far it’s super cute – whitty & fun and i love a good brooklyn woman – essentially it’s a memoir of a brooklyn woman and her failed relationships. #storyofmylife?
the good news (which is actually not in the book – at least i don’t think) is that she’s married now!
besides that i’m freshening up on my jets news
what i’m listening to
well that’s right people – it’s that time of the year again – le football season.
i’m saddling up & getting prepped for a what i’m thinking interesting season it will be
so perfect timing that deej & i went on a VIP tour of the WFAN sports talk radio show with Boomer & Carton on tuesday at their downtown studios in manhattan
brewing up at the pret manger before the meet & greet. naturally i told deej she better check that hair-do before she meets the men of her dreams. – she obeyed.
here goes nothing! we listened to the last half hour of the show from inside the studios – so cool! and then we got to chit-chat with boomer & carton for a few, take some pictures & then toured the rest of the studio and met some of the other guys
deej was so impressive – she’s like their biggest fan ever – and they were all so impressed by everything that she knew.
it was pretty much the best day of her life.
what i’m eating
stolen borrowed two recipes from elise this week – and i just can’t get enough
the first. is her easy peazy or ‘simple’ vegan stir-fry – except i made mine so not vegan
it’s really just so easy – and so fantastically delicious i can’t stop eating it. just cook frozen vegetables on the stove top in coconut oil & bragg’s liquid aminos then when they’re a bit cooked through plop in a scoop of peanut flour & i added sriracha and mix to combine – i tossed salmon into this bowl & had it as lettuce wraps with some almonds on the side.
i’ve also made this with chicken & tilapia this week (like 5x)
i also made the best salmon i’ve ever had in my entire life this week. yes that’s a bold statement but it’s totally true.
we made the biggest piece of salmon ever using that rub & grilled it on the bbq on low for about 30 minutes. guys – not kidding. i could eat this every day of the week for the rest of my life. <--- bold but true. i had a rockin piece with sweet potato moons & roasted broccoli in coconut oil.
recipes i’m pinning
clean eating curry pineapple turkey rice bowl (say that three times fast)
gifs i’m loving
when i heard that emily maynard cheated on jef holm.
when my favorite song comes on.
when i saw the pictures of prince harry…naked.
when my teacher assigns homework on the first day of school.
and why i’m sad?
because it’s the last weekend of summer fridays! back to the real world. bah.
better get to it! lots to do today & off to greenport for the weekend
love to love you <3
