enough talk about seafood right?
how is everyone today? i’m fab – thanks for asking! deej and i had a lovely day in the city (that’s a story for another day) and right now i’m chilling out with the housewives of nyc (wishing i was a housewife of NY) and ready to talk about treadmills & trader joe’s today
want to? let’s do it
as i said before – i’ve
begged re-hired my dear friend and trainer tara to take me back – i’m on week 2 of her 6 week lifting program and i’m still in love with her
currently i’m lifting 4 days a week (2 upper & 2 lower) i’m also incorporating some treadmill sprints/stairmill HIIT 3 times a week & one day of incline walking for about 45 minutes at 15%
saturday AM i did a fantastical treadmill workout and i just need to share it with you!
a couple of weeks ago i spotted this treadmill workout pinned from jess at blonde ponytail on pinterest & quickly dropped it in my ‘fitfluential bucket list’ board – fully knowing i could cross this off my bucket list asap
i altered it a little bit – but totally got on board with how much fun it was and made the three miles fly by. here’s mine:
- 6 rounds – run .5 mile
- 10 burpees
- 20 mountain climbers
- 10 pushups
- 15 elbow-to-knee
- 45 second plank
each .5 mile i increased the speed going from 6.5mph (to start out) and got up to 7.5. the last 1/2 mile i was really pushing myself! i ended with 5 minutes of cool down walking and then some stretching
i can’t wait to do it again!
something tara also has me doing is drinking a post workout shake (of just protein & water) immediately after my workout – then about 30-45 minutes later i’m eating a real breakfast (eggs & oat bran – or something along those lines) – my stomach seems to freak out anytime i drink whey so i’ve been on the hunt for a good stomach-friendly protein powder
even though it’s a bit pricey i decided to take the plunge and purchase a jug of vegasport protein – i’ve heard fantastic things about it so i figured hey why not right?
right. it’s amazing. i’m officially a vega convert – i had it this morning post upper body & stairmill HIIT & loved every minute of guzzlage
shake shake shake and guzzle. i had no problem mixing it (just by shaking and wireball-less) and the powder dissolved completely! it was delicious refreshing & easy on the tum!
after our day in the city deej & i hit the new TJs (yes that officially makes 4 trader joe’s within 20 minutes from my house ::insert jealousy::)
the goodies today:
- all natural pre-sliced & individually wrapped chicken breasts
- 96% lean ground beef (i smell cinnamon chipotle sliders in my future)
- unsweetened almond milk
- cubed butternut squash
- tjs hot salsa (2 – for my brother – he’s obsessed)
- sweet potatoes
- brussels sprouts
- toasted oat bran
- & eggs!
this was actually my first time buying the individually wrapped chicken breasts – yes i think they’re a little overpriced but i when i usually buy the larger package (not individually wrapped) i end up wasting 2-3 breasts by not using them all. at least i know which these i will only take out the amount i’m sure i will use
the beef on the underhand i consume wholly & let none go to waste – plus i think it’s a fantastic price for extra lean ground beef. i’m officially a carnivore.
as we speak i’ve got butternut squash & sweet tater moons roasting in the oven in cinnamon & brussels roasting in chili powder & nooch
lemons & almond milk are currently being mixed (along with dijon mustard, nutritional yeast & stevia) to make my new favorite salad dressing obsession inspired by laura
eggs for the obvious, cukes for the snacks & walnuts as my new favorite salad toppper
nothing too crazy just some of the basics – you know how it goes
clocked in at just under $60 – definitely a higher price due to the chicken breasts & walnuts which aren’t always weekly staples - still not too shabby!
enough talk about food – time to grub boi.
love to love you <3
