hi hi friends! things have been good over here – busy but good!
my office ‘roomie’ as i like to call him found a new job and is moving back home (to Michigan) with his wife – we shared job responsibilities so in the the interim (until they find someone to replace him) i’m taking over his responsibilities (along with mine) – so it’s been a beastly week at work to say the least. moving forward – it’s going to become even more beastly. i’m just looking forward to the week during the holidays we get off – it will be a much needed break
any-hoo! let’s do an episode of…the friday five shall we?
what i’m reading
i finally finished ‘no easy day’ – i really loved it and i think if you want to get a good inside look at special op units & the mysteries behind the osama bin laden capture you should definitely pick up a copy.
currently i’m reading ‘the paris wife’ by paula mclain
it’s been pretty good so far! a little slow at first – and kind of frustrating (with some of the characters) but it’s a great story about ernest hemingway and the love of his life – i’ll keep you posted as i finish it up
there are so many delicious & easy recipes to make – i usually scroll through it on my phone on the way home from work just to do some menu planning or spark some food-spiration
what i’m listening to
i’ve been on a HUGE grace potter & the nocturnals kick this week – not that i’m ever not – but i can’t stop listening to her albums – they’re actually on repeat on the way to work
lately i’ve been obsessed with the song – nothing but the water version 2 – it reminds me of the charlie brown theme song with a little bit of soul & blues (and it’s from one of her old albums which makes it super vintage.)
go ‘head get your groove on.
what i’m eating
OH! i’ve been quite the craft in the kitchen this week. between practical paleo & well fed i’ve been an experimental machine
blue ribbon country captain chicken from well fed
on a side note: this made for excellent leftovers on a salad with walnuts & truffle oil
skillet sweet potato, sausage & spinach hash (i used 1lb of lean ground turkey & two apple chicken sausage links and a granny smith apple)
this is so delicious – it will be making it into the weekly/biweekly rotation
and on a random side note – i can’t stop eating roasted sweet potato (with cinnamon, coconut flakes & cocoa powder) with almond butter on top.
what i’m pinning
you see – the problem with christmas & the holidays in general are that they make me realize the things that i need/want instead of the things that other people need/want
which lead me to create my ‘things i NEED’ board on pinterest – caps lock on the ‘need’
shouldn’t it be – the ‘things i need to get other people’ board..
you see i *need* this super cute & chic iphone docking station for my desk at work – wouldn’t it just be so perfect with my phone & pencils…
and what about these adorably amazing lily pulitzer earrings…
like i said. things i need.
gifs that are making me pee my pants
when my instagram picture gets a lot of likes
when someone hot walks into the room
when i found out about the girl meets world pilot
love to love you <3
cawfee tawk! what’s on your ‘things i NEED’ list this year?
