TGIT

– well thank the good Lord it’s Thursday

yesterday – aka wednesday – was a dooooozE.

One would think that on one's rest day it would be a nice and relaxing morning - eh?

I was already mildly 'depressed' that my rest day happened to fall on a killer WOD - but after reruns of the Kardashians (am I the only one who loves Scott...?) and my chest and quads burning from previous workouts -I knew I wouldn't be able to deadlift a newspaper let alone a barbell

I wanted - key word - wanted - to get up a little earlier and do some foam rolling and quick yoga moves/stretching but when I woke up in a tizzy (forgetting to set my alarm clock for AM - damn you Julie.) I blasted into the shower

....not before updating my iPhone software. #priorities.

Reasons why I like working out in the morning include:
1. Time to think about work outfits before you actually have to get dressed
2. Time to drink a leisurely cup of coffee

bullet-proof style...

coffee+ghee+coconut oil. YUM.

I would be a liar if I said I didn't miss my stevia.

3. Starting my car way before I have to get to the train station

4. Proper water consumption before starting the day

5. Brain has time to function.

The above stood true when I found myself speeding BACK home - dehydrated in mismatched clothing - racing through the front door to grab my phone - screaming up the stairs at Deej "I need a ride to the train station - I forgot my phone -

I'm gonna miss my TRAIN!!!"

Now if that's not an alarm clock I don't know what is.

To say the least I got a nice sprint workout in when I raced up the train platform stairs to slide - literally slide- into the closing doors

...good thing I was traveling in uggs.

breakfast and coffee at the office never tasted so good.

now about that sugar detox.

I've been 3 days stevia free

I haven't eaten grains/legumes in over a month so that's not really the struggle for me

I have eaten rice cakes the last two days but I love them and they're not sugary so it's fine - or is it? I don't care about that - for me it's just going stevia-free for 21 days and seeing how I feel after it

Day 1: sad my coffee was boring but I managed to get through
Day 2: still sad about my boring coffee - even more sad when I wanted mid-afternoon hot chocolate and I had a headache
Day 3: bullet proofed my coffee - ate lots of healthy fats - this could be easy

....until I realized that my sugar detox is interfering with Valentines day.

  4. Even though stevia is not sugar, does your body react to it the same way as. If it were sugar?

  5. Wow, what a morning! So, I definitely do all that relaxing and stuff before my workout....because I don't have to be at work until 10, and it's right down the street. Yeah, I know I'm rubbing it in. It's glorious really.
I definitely think your ass will get you a Valentine this year.
Ummm...are you super excited for FOUR HOURS of the Bachelor, btw?!?!

  6. Really curious about giving up stevia. Do you have a good article/book/post/evidence that would help me kick the habit? Is this an experiment or forever?

  7. I've been ditching the heavy cream (and actually all dairy) in my coffee, and black coffee is just not. the. same. Coffee has almost lost its appeal for me without it (almost.)
    Yay for making your train!

    Also, ilikescotttoo ;)
