so it took me a while to get this post up but last weekend was SO much fun!
i had two bridal showers in two days. it was a bridal bonanza if i do say so myself
saturday my coworkers bridal shower was in staten island – it took WAY too long to get there but the shower was so fun
it was at li greci’s staaten a fancy pants catering hall in staten island
have i told you i love bridal shower games. i’m sorry to not be ashamed of that.
literally a scene out of mob wives
but still a great time
after the shower we hit up a bakery RIGHT across the street.
i snagged a few italian cookies of my dreams and then headed back to the island to meet my cousins for dinner who were in town for sundays festivities
what were sundays festivities?
well! it was my future sister-in-law’s bridal shower!
i woke up – took an early morning (and really freaking hard) hot vinyasa yoga class
and then got dressed to go!
her mom, her sister, deej, jenna & i hosted the shower at the grandstand – a cute irish pub in queens
the theme was a traditional irish breakfast – because well we’re going to ireland in LESS THAN 2 MONTHS (where james & laura will be married)
seeeeesters & cousins!
deej, jen & i were in charge of the centerpieces and the games
centerpieces were none other than pinterest inspired
one of laura’s aunts crafted HAND MADE mini saucers with irish clovers painted in the middle – they were the most adorable favors ever and she put an irish tea bag in every bag to go with the piece of pottery
my cousins came up from maryland & we had SO many good laughs
are they not the cutest? check out stylish grammy & her grandchildren
surprise bride & her knight in shining armor (HA!)
the games were OF COURSE bridal bingo, also who knows the couple the best, and who knows the groom the best
the games were taken VERY serious.
mini liquour bottles = great prizes.
there was MUCH bacon, eggs & sausage consumed. i did stay clear of the traditional irish pudding…
happy bacon eaters! i think i’m going to like irish food…
time to open gifts!
i was also designated the gift bitch
jenna was the assembler of the ribbon hat
SO many gifts! isn’t this one of the prime reasons to get married…
somebody had to do it – so jenna and i put together a fun little Vicki;s secret package for laura
every bride needs a few (or a lot) of pink striped boxes in their pile – right?!
we called in the groom (who was chillin’ in the bar with some other men) to snap a shot with his bride-to-be in her snazzy hat
sisters!
and all of the girls
we had mini irish bridal shower themed cupcakes made by kimmy’s kreations
look who i found!
one of my besties who also ironically works with laura
lots of fun pictures
all in all it was an awesome party and laura was so happy
i’m just not sure if ireland is ready for us yet…
love to love you <3

How exciting! I love Irish food.... I love most food so that doesn't say much haha
ReplyDeleteLooks like an amazing time! I like bridal games too, don't worry Julie.
ReplyDeleteMy bridal shower had a similar "pinterest inspired" flower vase. I think I posted them on Instagram, and...saved them! I was obsessed.
Hi Julie,
ReplyDeleteI have a huge favor to ask! I am trying to plan games for a bridal shower while working 7 days a week and I'm completely overwhelmed... I would be forever indebted to you if you could send me copies of theses game/questions/bingo boards...And any other advice on things you enjoyed doing.
Toilet paper dress?? Have you ever done that?
Thanks in advance
Sure Asia - shoot me an email and I'll see how I can help. No worries it's supposed to be fun!
DeleteHi Julie,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you went to the hot vinyasa class. I live in LI and have been looking for a good class/studio. Thanks!!!
Ooh, so fun! I LOVE your dress.
ReplyDeleteI've actually only been to one shower- Ari's sister-in-law- and we didn't play any games.
