this weekend has been nothing short of relaxing – perhaps on the verge of boring?
that’s okay – girl was sick on friday so a low key casual weekend was definitely in order especially after last weekend’s bridal bonanza and next weekend i’ve got some fun things coming up!
i love fun things coming up – don’t you? they make the week go SO much faster
on sundayi did manage to get in a really good ‘chipper’ style workout in
chipper style means you have a set number of exercises to do and you work through it for time!
for the front squats i separated them into 4 sets of 10 – starting at 65# and increasing the weight each round by 10# eventually finishing out with 95# front squats – the hang power cleans i used 65# and the shoulder to overhead i used 45# because my arms were SPENT.
this was super fun and SUPER intense – the whole thing took me about 50 minutes that’s including the moving from the rower to the squat racks and setting up the racks, etc, etc
worst part? the 1,500m row at the end of the workout!
before i started crossfitting i used to think that the row machine was weaksauce – now? its one of my favorite forms of cardio – second to weight lifting – of course.
post workout i came home and made a SERIOUS brunch
sautéed shredded brussel sprouts with leftover homemade paleo shepherds pie (the best thing in the world) – topped with avocado & hot sauce, a big fat juicy grapefruit on the side & coffee with heavy cream
i always forget how much i love grapefruits – and then i have one and remember how much i love thee
since i was pretty under the weather for the majority of the weekend i didn’t participate in any crazy st. patty’s day festivities
i DID in fact have another type of brew on tap
one of the whole foods by me (in jericho, long island) recently starting selling kombucha on tap
UH WHAT.
thank you facebook for informing me of this – and ever since i saw the original announcement it’s been on my list of things to do ASAP
it took a little while to find out exactly where the kombucha tap was but after a couple of minutes wandering around some lovely whole foods gentlemen showed me the way
i know i know kombucha is WAY overpriced – especially since you can make it on your own – but i don’t – maybe some day i will?
probably not.
but the on tap prices are SO much better than the bottle prices – especially since when i have a bottle i feel like i need to drink the whol ething in one sitting – but with the growler – i just pour a little glass and go!
i have it since saturday and i’m not even half way done yet! pretty good
plus SHH don’t tell anyone but they forgot to charge me for the growler!
winning – i save 6 bucks and now i can just forever bring my growler back and have it refilled - because you know i will
anyways.
you get a cute growler & choice of two flavors – i choose peach bellini which is FREAKING FANTASTIC and then you’re good to go!
it’s good to treat yourself every so often right?
coming from the girl who just bought a new brown leather bag on madwell
HEY it’s not my fault birchbox sent me a a madwell coupon just when i needed a ‘brain break’ at work today…
did i mention i also picked up a few new bars of chocolate too?
chocolate = endorphins and endorphins make people easier to work with right?
i <3 sweet riot chocolate. & the one on the right – it was on sale – and it’s delicious – i don’t even know what the ‘supplements’ are but hopefully they emit sexyness from me and brings men to me like a brand new refrigerator magnet..
mmm on that note i’m off to watch reality tv & grab a CHUNK of chawcolate!
love to love you <3

all of these things are awesome! (minus you being sick). I LOVE sweet riot chocolate:)
ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY AGREE! Having something to look forward to always makes the week better. Hope you're feeling much much better. Chocolate always makes a girl better, right? I still haven't tried kombucha. Although I LOVE me some vinegar, the thought of drinking something that tastes like vinegar makes my tummy do flips.
ReplyDeletewe love our kombucha on tap down here! in fact, there is a brewery that makes kombucha and beer combos. See, move here already!
ReplyDeleteI love the new bag!!
ReplyDeleteWHA WHA WHA?!?! Kombucha on tap?! Jeaaaaloooussss. I need to come visit you so that we can take a kombucha field trip together! Peach bellini sounds like an amazing flavor.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Madewell bag. Light brown is perfect for spring!
Hope you're feeling better, pretty lady! xoxo
