WOW do i have a lot to fill you in on
FIRST of all i wanted to show you how much fun i had last weekend!
things have been a circus at work – it’s busy season – which is fun – but also busy – like BUSY BUSY.
last friday night a bunch of co-workers and i went the ringling bros and barnum & baileys circus at the new barclays center in brooklyn
my coworker got us special ‘VIP’ tickets – which got us to a pretty cool party in the calvin klein lounge before the show
this would have been REALLY cool had it not been chock full of kids – but it was a circus – so yeah
it was my first time at the barclays center- and jay-z’s house is pretty damn cool
the circus – was freaking awesome – i’m not even kidding at all. i would go like 5x over again
the elephants were super cool also – they actually danced – like danced
it was at the armory in chelsea – there were a lot of random coffee, tea & bakery vendors - pretty cool! i left on a major caffeine high
did you know stella artois mixes tea AND beer?!
we hit up chipotle – FOR MY FIRST TIME after the festival
naturally i overdosed on pork & guacamole! i definitely see what all the guacamole hype is!
NOW i need you to know how serious yesterday’s workout was – it took me almost 39 minutes!
this was my exact face when i read the WOD email tuesday night
bum bum BUM…
now it doesn’t look as beastly as you may think
but the fact that you have 15 pull-ups every 4 minutes – by the time i would get back to the rower – i would have like 2 minutes to row and then it was back to pull-ups! by the end of the workout pretty much everyone had transitioned from pull-ups to pushups – the pull-ups were just taking too long for everyone!
when the WOD was finished i was flying HIGH on endorphins. i just love the rower – it’s hard for my giant ass body to do the usual crossfit ‘gymnastic’ moves – but i usually excel much better with workouts that involve the rower (which is one of my favs)
i refueled with a big ole big protein shake – green, mean, coconutty & lean
mocha coconut green beast
- 1 serving formulx grass-fed whey protein in chocolate
- 1.5 cups chilled coffee
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1 T unsweetened coconut
- 1 T nikki’s coconut butter (in macadamia nut) <--- this shit is CRACK.
- 1 big old handful of spinach
