how are you? I’m good! well I’m okay – I think – well I’m about 99% sure I’ve come down with the first disease of the season. I’m super flu-like feeling on top of feeling like my chest weighs a ton (and no I didn’t get implants…) – no energy, you know the whole 9.
So instead of being a silly pot, I haven’t been to the gym in like 4 days – so on top of being in a workout rut and feeling unmotivated – I’ve just finally gave in and decided I’ll go back to the gym when I’m feeling 100% – both mentally AND physically.
what’s the point if I’m just not into it – right?
OF COURSE this is hard for me – I’m straight addicted to exercise – I mean I can’t even pretend I’m not – but when all of the things come crumbling down something has to give and although it’s mentally challenging – it won't be forever – hey it could be 2 days – 2 weeks – 2 months but girl has to get her body & mind better first
Friday night I just completely wiped myself out – Deej, Jenna & I headed up to Mohegan Sun mid-day Friday (I left work early) and we met a bunch of my girlfriends (and some of their family) and we all got together to see the So You Think You Can Dance tour which was at the Mohegan Sun Arena
It was a great night but I was just a deadbeat by then and by the time we got home (around 2AM) I was out like a light
…and then I slept until 12PM the next day…
what am I a college student?!
I was still feeling pretty awful but I wanted to get some errands done while I was on long island, so Deej & I headed up to Whole Foods – where I enjoyed a GIANT brown box of 2PM breakfast
it must have been roasting day (or I must have been starving) because everything was freaking amazing. the box was jam packed with leafy greens, roasted acorn squash, roasted brussels & broccoli, chicken, salmon & tessemae’s balsamic dressing
we spent the rest of the afternoon running some errands and then finally we came home to make dinner (burgers!)
after dinner I was yearning for something chocolaty – the 5 pieces of TJs chocolate just wasn’t doing it for me so I scrambled into the kitchen and threw together some protein cookies mainly sponsored by Designer Whey!
note: I received the Designer Whey products for free through the FitFluential Ambassador program- this includes the Smari icelandic yogurt coupons
blueberry chocolate protein cookies (makes 3 giant cookies for 1 hungry person)
- 1 scoop Designer Whey French Vanilla protein powder
- 1T unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1T unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1T ground flaxseed
- 3T Smari Blueberry Icelandic Yogurt
- 1T canned pumpkin
- 2 egg whites
- 3T almond milk
- vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a sprinkle of cardamom
mix dry, then wet ingredients and scoop into 3 cookie shapes on a pan – bake at 350 for about 20-25 minutes – let them cool for a few minutes (or don’t!) and top with all sorts of nut butters
looook at my cooooookie stats! note this is without the peanut butter puddlez
a few tidbits about Smari icelandic yogurt: first of all it’s delicious! I can’t even remember the last time I had yogurt – but I am SUPER glad that I brought it back into my life with this brand
what really struck me about this yogurt (and convinced me to sign up for the campaign) is because it’s organic icelandic yogurt made from grass-fed cows (in Wisconsin!) – in all seriousness though I was super excited to learn that it’s made from grass-fed cows – all natural and the ingredients are definitely recognizable – gluten free and kosher!
4 different flavors – blueberry & strawberry (which I got my paws on) – plain & vanilla – which are my next grabs once I find them!
i hope you find this yogurt in your local food store! if you do let me know if you try it – it’s so delicious!
love to love YOU <3
