errrrrrr merrrrrr gawwwwwwd
there is a very good looking boy in my building – on the 5th floor – i know this because i just rode the elevator with him..
I tried to break the awkward elevator silence ice with a typical witty joke – pretty much making fun of not being able to understand our super – awwwwkwaaaard – i got a chuckle – he probably has a girlfriend – i asked what floor – he said 5 – i got off on 3 – we both said have a good night – boom.
girl got no game.
See ya later – on my way to the 5th floor for some shuuuugaaaaaa
first of all – i wanted tell you THANK YOU for being such amazing friends, lurkers, etc etc – my heart is overfilled with joy with all of the advice, feedback, positivity & love – thank you, thank you, thank you
i’ve taken all of your tips & advice to heart and I know we all go through a funk here and there
I’m sure I’m just having a bratty girl moment and when it passes I will feel like a brand new button!
I feel like I ran a marathon today!
I got a pretty light shoulders workout in, then I beasted to the hair salon – got my keratin on (I went to a new salon today and I was SUPER nervous) – I mean I’ve been getting my keratin done at the same place for the past 2 years so changing it up and going to a brand new place is quite nerve-racking
She did a great job though- AND I got 10% off which was $$$ because keratin is not cheap
Then on the walk home from the salon, I stopped at the local butcher (aren’t I so cute!) – I got chicken breasts & then the butcher also ground some chicken breast for me – WHOA I had no idea I could ask for that!
SO yeah – I guess this girl has got her own butcher! THEN after the butcher I walked across the street to the farmer’s market – bought two stalks of very overpriced broccoli and headed home
1 keratin – 6lbs of chicken – 2 stalks of broccoli later – I made it home
GIRL. WAS. HUNGRY.
Basically I took every morsel of what was leftover in my fridge and put it in a giant tin bowl
romaine, leftover veggies that I had previously sauteed in tessemae’s cracked pepper marinade (it was a mix of sweet potato, shredded brussels, yellow squash, mushrooms & asparagus), tomatoes, trader joe’s turkey breast, sauerkraut & avocado – dressed it off with tessemae’s red wine vinaigrette & some lemon juice
In hindsight I really wish I remembered to put some feta in there – I ALWAYS forget about the feta until I’m finished – open my fridge and the block is staring at me. DOH.
After lunch I headed down the block to Foodtown – Saturdays are SO much better for food shopping and I needed to get some extra ingredients for tomorrow’s dinner party!
SHHH don’t say anything but we’re hosting a 30th surprise birthday party for James tomorrow! Just the fam – but still hopefully he’ll be surprised!
THEN – I unloaded the groceries, grabbed a snack (I’m on a total Trader Joe’s pastrami kick for the record), changed my shoes, brushed my teeth and got on that good old R train to head into the city
I had plans to meet up with one of my best friends when she was finished with her family dinner – but it ended up not working out wahh wahhh
While I was in the city I was on a mission
Hu Kitchen & a denim jacket – in that order.
Hu Kitchen is a place I’ve been dying to get to for quite some time – it’s a sustainable restaurant that makes food that is unprocessed & all natural – what it is is what it is – basically it’s a paleo restaurant – and although I’m not paleo – I’m all for eating real & really good delicious food
The second I walked in I fell in love
Almost immediately I grabbed two chocolate bars – TWO. I was not leaving without Hu chocolate
I got the regular & the mint chocolate – and did not hesitate to crack those babies open after dinner
SPEAKING of dinner
I literally could have stared at the menu (and the cases of food) for hours – but I didn’t want to be that freak so I just ordered the first thing I looked up and saw that included beef
I got one of the “bowls”
and rolled with the vegetable medely (which was carrots, beets & kale) with the hu joe on top – AMAZING grass fed beef – er ma gawd- i died and went to heaven
look how cute the little hu grain free roll is!
Basically – GET ME BACK THERE ASAP. okay now that I said that…
WHY was it so hard for me to find a freaking denim jacket.
I swear I went to a million stores – and I am WAY too old for Forever 21. I walked in there and I felt like I should have been on Medicare.
I just want an ‘affordable’ cute denim jacket – to just ‘throw’ on. I DO NOT want one that is lined in sharp objects, or one that has more holes than a piece of swiss cheese – i also do not want a jacket with a giant leopard stripe down the back – and I’m a patriotic person but I don’t need a star studded flag on my back
I just want a normal denim jacket.
But that didn’t happen…
SO eventually after the plans with my friend and I didn’t work out – I made my way back to “the Ridge” and here I am chillin’ on the couch, feet up, tea in hand, got myself a nice peanut butter laden snack and I’m about to fall the freak asleep.
love to love you <3
