world war z is stupid. like straight stoo-pid. i mean it’s so bad that it’s not even worth spelling ‘stupid’ right.
i never go to the movies. honestly i just don’t have the attention span for it. but saturday night jenna convinced us that we needed to go to the movies – so if it’s a slow weekend in greenport and no one else is around i guess the movies is what’s happening. so we went. she got to pick the movie. if it were up to me i would have picked monsters university. actually i’ve been dying to see bury my ashes at bergdoffs (or whatever it’s called) but i dropped the ball on that one.
so she got to pick. i said ‘oh is that the movie with brad pitt in the car’ she responds ‘yes’ – is it scary? i ask. no no she responds. she’s stupid. deej & van are stupid for believing her i guess i’m stoopid too for believing her.
but the most stupid thing was the movie – oh yeah and the preview of the stupid movie with the clapping hands out of the closet. i don’t know much about that movie because i kept my hoodie over my eyes for most of the preview but it’s stupid.
and so is world war z.
the weekend was great – leading up to world war z was nice – relaxing
i ate a lot of take out food. mostly grilled chicken salads. actually since thursday night i’ve been lazy and we’ve been getting grilled chicken salads from whatever italian restaurants are around
it’s too hot to cook right?
we romped around town on saturday. i bought i new northfork sticker and a bracelet made from recycled flip flops. so summer of me. i also spent $15 other dollars in the matter of 10 minutes and have nothing to show for it other than a round of iced coffees for the ladies, two biscottis and i bought ‘action’ in this summer’s 1,000 piece puzzle – so i can puzzle at my own leisure – you wouldn’t believe how far a $5 contribution towards a puzzle can get you around here
i slept late on saturday. i skipped the gym, made a delightful breakfast
sautéed up a chicken sausage with some egg whites, brussels, spinach – coconut oil does this all well perfectly – i topped it with lots of avocado and tessemae’s hot hot hot wing sauce
i read dan’s papers with some coffee touched up with almond milk & stevia. dan’s papers – it’s a ritual a summer ritual. i usually feel like i can’t start my weekend without knowing what old man mcgumbus is up to over on shelter island.
i was still hungry after breakfast – i had a rice cake and some peanut butter
then we went to king kullen to get dinner supplies, we stopped for iced coffee (and breakfast for queen jenna) – east end bagelry needs some iced coffee lessons – mine was below par – medium chilled dirt water more like it. i told deej she owed me bonnie jean’s on sunday.
when we got back from king kullen i felt antsy – so i drove on over to fitness advantage and threw around some weights
warmed up with 1,000m row – did some barbell complexes (worked on my cleans, front squats & bench presses) and eventually made it home.
i’m on a major rice cake kick. it’s straight weird but my favorite thing for lunch these days are organic brown rice cakes topped with piles of sweet potato, mashed avocado & turkey burgers. kid you not. i had like a bagillion of them.
caught stuffing my face..
still antsy. i made the ladies come downtown. we walked, i bought iced coffees - ‘this rounds on me!’
the arcade is back in action – in case anyone cares or even knows what the arcade was – i’m on the hunt for beads – we used to bead when we were younger like yes string tiny beads on strings and tie them and then wear them as ankle bracelets and necklaces – now people are selling these things for $50 a piece. i missed this revenue opportunity when i was 12.
spotted some hotties. they were with tiny blondes. #fail. i am not a tiny blonde – nor ever aspire to be one. so that’s out.
plus nobody wants a dorky girl in a ‘eat more kale’ shirt.
do not judge my weekend attire.
i wasn’t hungry but we grilled. we grilled A LOT. steak, burgers, sweet potatoes, romaine, peaches…
you name it we grill it.
dinner. i wasn’t too hungry and i have no idea why i filled my plate so much. i ate the burger, some steak, the sweet potato & the peaches. of course i left the veggies behind
then we saw world war z.
the best part of the movie was my movie snack. i made protein hot cakes to go – with a mini cup of peanut butter. i was sad when it was over because then i had to actually pay attention to the stupid movie
and brad pitt sucks.
but i love the summer. so i forgive jenna because summer is awesome. even if it does involve zombies for a few hours…
love to love you <3
